Faith-based counseling in Boise

Your faith is part of how you understand yourself, your relationships, and what healing means. You shouldn't have to leave it at the door of a therapist's office, and you shouldn't have to explain it, either.

Does this sound familiar?

  • You want a therapist who understands your faith without you having to justify it
  • Anxiety, depression, or a hard season is testing what you believe
  • Your marriage needs help and you want your shared faith in the room
  • You're working through a faith transition or a church hurt
  • You're wrestling with guilt or shame that has a spiritual shape
  • You want licensed, evidence-based therapy, not only pastoral counseling

You don't need to check every box, and you don't need a diagnosis to reach out.

What faith-based counseling means here

It means licensed clinical care that makes room for your beliefs. Your therapist can bring scripture, prayer, or your faith community's language into the work when you want it, and won't push it when you don't. You set the terms, every session.

Our therapists and faith

Jennifer will thoughtfully integrate your faith into attachment-based therapy for individuals. Leann is comfortable including spirituality and the LDS faith in her trauma and mood work. Every therapist on our team respects your autonomy whether faith is central to you or not part of the picture at all.

Faith transitions and church hurt

Some people come to us because their faith is changing or because a religious community caused harm. That work needs a therapist who won't try to talk you back in or out of anything. We can hold that space.

Common questions

Do I have to be religious to see you?

No. Faith-based counseling is one option among many. Plenty of our clients never bring up faith, and that's completely fine.

Will my therapist share my faith?

Not necessarily, and you can ask. What we promise is that your beliefs will be treated with respect and worked with on your terms.

Is this different from pastoral counseling?

Yes. Our therapists are licensed clinicians using evidence-based approaches. Many clients see us alongside a pastor or bishop; we're glad to be part of that circle of support.

Does insurance cover it?

Yes. Faith-based counseling is therapy; the faith piece is how we do it, not a separate service. See fees and insurance.
